As per a new report, Gionee has plans of launching M5 Plus on the 21st of December. There is a likelihood that this smartphone would initially be introduced in China, but later on, its availability would be seen in other Asian countries as well. Nothing has been mentioned about the price as of now, but if you judge it by the specifications of the phone, it is definitely not very expensive. Obviously, when the launch was seen in other countries, the price of M5 Plus is a bit high as compared to Chinese version.
When we talk about specifications, the platform on which Gionee M5 Plus would be launched is Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is very early to talk whether it would be upgraded to Marshmallow or not. Customers giving preference to tablets over regular smartphones would be happy to know that this comes with Gionee M5 Plus has a 6 inch AMOLED display and has Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
A 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek 6753 processor along with 3 GB of RAM powers the phone. The inbuilt storage capacity of the phone is 32 GB and it can be expanded with a microSD card slot up to 128 GB.
At the back, there is a 13 megapixel photo snapper with full HD video recording, LED flash and autofocus. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel selfie camera. Options of connectivity include USB OTG, AGPS, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Dual SIM Support and 4G LTE. It is backed by a 5020mAh battery and has a fingerprint sensor on the home button of the phone.
